Croeso (Welcome) to the website of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Aberavon, Wales.

The church at Ebenezer has been providing an important service to the people of Aberavon for many years. We wish to continue serving you through proclaiming the Good News about God’s great love for you in Jesus Christ. We therefore warmly welcome you to the meetings.

Who are we? We are people who believe in Jesus Christ. Having come into a knowledge of God by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit our lives now have a fresh meaning, direction and purpose. Our mission is to proclaim the Word of God in order to make Him known to people and so extend His Kingdom.

The Baptist cause in Aberavon was established in 1651 by Lewis Thomas from Ilston (the site of the first Baptist church in Wales established by John Miles in 1649). Our current Minister, Peter Davies, hails from Cardigan in Wales. He attended Bethania Baptist Church in the town and became a Christian during his School years. He trained at the North Wales Baptist College in Bangor and has ministered in Baptist churches in both North and South Wales. He has also worked in Education and Social Services. He is married with two children. His interests include reading, music, photography, sport and travel.
